We are considering getting an awning in a bag, and it's whether to go for a Thule Omnistor or a Fiamma Caravanstore.

I realise it's a long shot, but has anyone ever had both makes and can comment on the quality of them.

If not, can anyone pass comment, good or bad, on either make about the quality and ease of use.

Also, was there any detrimental effects on the awning rail.

We’ve had both.

First van had an Omnistor that got stuck and needed replacing. Second van has a Fiamma that was very poor. Last two have been Fiammas and have been fine.

We used to prefer the Omnistor but feel changes in both mean that there is not much in it now.

We have a fiamma caravanstore zip, it’s really easy and convenient, however we do worry about what the uk weather may throw at us, it is not suitable in any kind of wind.
As far as we are aware there have been no effects on the awning rail and we have used it for a few years now.

Thule Omnistor won the Motorhomes of the Year 2017 - Best RV Accessories Award with 72.3%. Fiamma ranked second with 40.9% and Dometic third 17.5%.

We ended up purchasing a Thule Omnistor and it just oozes quality. Fantastic product, of course it is Swedish.

Might be more expensive, but as they say you pay for quality.

Have a fiamma caravanstore, the bag bit has now fallen apart, is there anyone who replaces them by re-sewing the canopy back into a new bag?

Hi, we don’t currently do repairs (although considering).. but you might want to try Johnscross they are in East Sussex and claim to be only approved Fiamma agents in uk. For Technical Assistance, call 01580-881288
