Our new caravan is fitted with a Phantom tracker. So far we've set it off once by accident and had a call regarding some sort of automatic alert at 2am! The operator said she could see that the van was stationery on the drive at the time. I know trackers are a very good idea, but does anyone have ideas/advice for newbies regarding these devices? How do we overcome the problem of the battery going below the required 10.5 volts when it's in storage and triggering an alert?
If you get the app you can check your battery, and see exactly where your van is.
We charge the battery every 6 weeks through the winter, and summer if we haven’t been away.
One year we kept getting alerts after lots of investigation it turned out we had a cobweb in the sensor, so we keep an eye on that.
Once after an alert we went up to the van and a fly flew out, so we now spray with fly spray when we take the van back to storage.
------------- Started with a motorbike and tent.......my gallery, my life.
We find we seem to have an alert a few days after we leave it wer used to on the old caravan have a regular one for low battery untrill we invested in a portable solar panel .New van has one though so portable one 100 watt is now for sale on preloved
Hi Everyone, I've had a contract with TRACKER for the past 3 years and it's now up for renewal. They want £100 to renew. Has anyone had a successful outcome from them if your van has been nicked? I've heard that the police are never really interested if they are aske to become involved. Any advice or comments would be welcome.
I bought my van second hand in 2016. it had a phantom tracker already installed but the last owner had let the subscription lapse. I contacted phantom to re-instate it. they would not. they wanted to fit a new one. I said no thanks

The question often asked is...
If it was stolen would you want it back???
The idea of the Tracker is to notify the moment some one interferes with the caravan. We are in Spain at the moment and if logging into the Phantom website can see the location of the caravan, the battery status and the mileage done since we collected the caravan from the dealer.
I have to say if my van were stolen I would feel uncomfortable getting it back used or abused by some low life. I did not renew my tracker and insured new for old.

As said with the Phantom tracker you are notified the moment the caravan is entered or moved. Hopefully the people are then stopped very soon by the police and before the caravan has disappeared for a few days.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
We bought a suitcase portable solar panel for our last caravan worked well no problems .nowq have one fitted on roof on new caravan (must remember to put it up for sale)
