Hi Morag

I use a iPaq 3870 pda with a Gps sleeve.  Ive used tom tom 3 on it but i prefer Co pilot Live made by Travroute. It has the whole of Great Britain on an add on Compact Flash card slotted into the Gps sleeve and comes with a cd of all Europe down to street level that can be downloaded onto either Compact Flash or SD

I use a Mitac mio 168 with CoPilot software - I would strongly recommend as it not only includes the M6 toll but also every speed camera in the UK!! very useful especially if you've unhitched the caravan!!

I have an Ipaq 2200 with Tom Tom 3 and a Tom Tom Bluetooth reciever. I love it.  I also have the speed camera plug-in that alerts you where they located.  I have to say it's great.

Ditto. Quoted for agreement.

I use an Ipaq 2210 with a Fortuna bluetooth receiver and Tom Tom 3 but it does suffer from lock-ups at times.  This appears to be a common problem with this set up and the times of lock up can vary from 5 mins from leaving home to working fine for 2 hours and then locking up.  It worked fine with TT2 so it looks as if I'll have to revert to this.

When working properly, it is invaluable especially the voice instructions allowing you to keep eyes on the road.  I would prefer a system that mutes the car stereo when giving instructions but these are expensive!

the company i work for service and repair ( can i say it, dont like to advertise ) sainsbury home delivery vans and a lot of them have sat nav fitted in them.  never used one myself before but at one time the sat nav was on when taking a van back to the store it was doing good with the directions with the sound of a nice freindly female voice  . all was spot on until i thought i would have a laugh and see what would happen and i found that if you go round a roundabout and keep going round the sat nav gets annoyed and it seemed to start getting louder if to be shouting at me .  if someone was watching me they must have thought i was mad keep going round in circles laughing at myself .    what fun they are .

Back to June now is it.  Copilot used to have some memory leak issues that would casuse lock ups.  I have been running the latest patch for a few weeks now and it seems better than it was.

All software has "features" unfortunately.
