It depends on how big you like your portions, we bought one and found it was too small to cook for two people at once, ok for a couple of bacon sarnies, or 2 burgers, but not much else. We have now invested in a larger one, and as most of the sites we visit are at least 10amps, it works fine.
We tried one of the George Forman Grills with detachable plates that just wash up in the sink, but found it to be less efficient than a fixed plate model. We use the non stick Bacofoil to line the plated area of our George Forman grill using one sheet to form an envelope with the fold facing the rear hingeside, it saves a heck of a lot of cleaning afterwards, and the non stick foil peals off the food easily.
Best bit of camp cooking equipment recently acquired after advice from another UKCS member on here was an Airfryer, the type without the stiring action, We cook and bake all sorts of foods in ours, and it makes lovely chips and roasts too. We bought ours from Argos with a 5ltr capacity for £129, Large enough to cook a full English for two, or a whole chicken, or bake a family sized pie from Frozen. Makes crispy Scampi and fish fingers, even bakes the Greggs frozen sausage rolls and filled slices available in Iceland stores to perfection.
Easy to clean too, both the outer bowl and basket can be washed up easily, even in a dishwasher if at home.
