In twenty years of camping I must have gone through a dozen water carriers, they all seem to fail around the tap. I'm considering the Outwell Collaps, has anyone got one and is it any good. Thanks in advance.

Afraid our tap lasted about 5 days. Not impressed. The bit that broke is the connection between lever and valve, made of plastic. Rediculous.

We've had the Colapz one (here) for over a year and it's been very reliable. Cheaper than the Outwell too.

Having had dozens which fail or leak,if we need one we just buy one of those big bottles of water with a handle.

I always used an empty milk bottle but found I could never clean it sufficiently to get rid of the stale milk smell if left empty for any length of time so I have just ordered a 5 litre plastic jerry can with a filler at the top and tap at the bottom...hoping it doesn't leak

Again, big thumbs up for a supermarket big bottle. Recycle when finished.

Having not experienced a water carrier that didn’t leak or make the water taste of plastic I now use the 5l supermarket flagons. I make one last all season, and then recycle it.

As I refuse to buy plastic bottled water (plastic to the environment, and water quality issues) ... we use glass bottles with flip tops (like the old corona type bottles).

They've been invaluable for the last four years ... three different colours for three people!

I have given up using water carriers. We just walk to the tap and fill up the pot or whatever. Used plastic bottles are not a good idea for repeated use. They are only meant for single use and start degrading once opened and used. Some nasty stuff getting in your water if you re use them.
For drinking on the move we use source water bladders. They have treatments to keep the water clean.
As kelper says, using plastic should be discouraged.

We use a ridgemonkey water container.. the tap lives under the lid when in transit so it's not damaged.

When you need to dispense water you can fit the tap and just upend it on a table or the like. nice bit of kit.
