we use the forerunner to this shelter from Decathlon...plenty of room for two people to sit inside and the zip up door keeps your belongings safe and out of sight...it sets up and packs away in seconds, so we find it ideal both for days at the beach and picnics in the countryside...

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I'm looking on the Decathlon website now - the forerunner certainly seems to have been very successful - I'm wondering if you have you ever had to use it in windy weather, on sand?
Thanks again :)
we've used it in pretty much every condition and it works well...if it's windy it tends to just bob about a bit and bounce back into shape...most of the time we don't bother to secure it to the sand as our belongings tend to be heavy enough to weigh it down, but in the past when it's been particularly breezy we've used large pebbles inside the shelter from the beach itself or plastic bags that we filled with sand...if you were really concerned about it blowing away i guess you could always use a couple of the spiral stakes dog owners use to keep their dogs from running off...they would screw down into the sand nicely...

Not a tent, but more of an umbrella with sides, and at the front corner of each side is a large pocket which you can fill with sand to add to stability. We paid a bargain price of £35 on Amazon -must have been an introductory offer I guess. Had ours over 4 years now, and we tend to do long summer holidays, so I can vouch for the robustness. Definitely worth more than we paid.
that looks interesting, thanks. Decathlon do one that looks similar. we've decided that its too late now to get sorted for our holiday, which is this week, but will do abit of research on these suggestion - never know, we might get a bargain at the end of the season!
thank you :)
