Hi, I purchased a Snipe Pro for my motorhome about 18 months ago. I used it 3 times over a 9 month period and then it stopped working. I contacted my dealer who said I need to contact Avtex direct. Avtex said I need to get it removed and returned to them so they can check it out.
To cut a long story short, I took my motorhome to the dealer who arranged for it to be removed from the vehicle and sent back. Avtex eventually said that something had burnt out and they have given me a refurbished one under warranty as a replacement. 8 months later and the same thing has happened again, it's stopped working again and showing the same fault lights.
Has anyone else had the same problem with one of these units, and does anyone know of a solution to this problem at a reasonable cost because it is now out of warranty, and since i have now read some poor reviews on this product, I am reluctant to spend a large amount of money to have it removed, repaired and refitted if is only going to last another 8 / 9 months.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I have read about this issue on other forums. BTW although the dealer is entitled to offer a repair, a replacement or a refund after the first six months I feel fairly certain that the replacement should be for a new system and not a second hand system?
We almost bought one about 3 years ago, but opted for the Satfi RV dome which works as far down as Valencia.
Maybe time to cut your losses and to consider a better option. Also maybe approach the dealer telling them that you are fed up with it and that you want a partial refund taking into consideration the use that you have had out of it. This is within current consumer regulation and you ar perfectly entitled to your rights.

Hello iank01,
Thanks a lot for your input, I tend to think the same to cut my losses and don't bother wasting any more time and money on it, but will take your advice and contact the dealer for a partial refund.
Many thanks for your help.

Hope you are successful and if the dealer gives you grief and refuses any sort of refund get expert consumer advice from Which Legal Services.
