The Outwell one looks luxurious. I was thinking of trying a double camp bed with a thin self inflatable on top? My inflatables never seem to last long, although I had an old fashioned Royal rubber one and it did last a long time. I don’t like ones with a pillow attached.
I have a Tesco double height single with integrated pump. Can also be pumped up manually. Used it for 3 or 4 trips now and it hasn't deflated unexpectedly yet. They also sell doubles but you will have to go to a Tesco store because Tesco Direct has closed down.
After and couple of Days of researching the inflatable bed topic i have realised that the perfect 1 doesn't exist.... I then settled with purchasing this today ..
I will make sure to report on it once Used for a few Days, Will it get the "wife approval" certification ? Let's hope as last year she was not very happy with the bed arrangements
Let's test this one....if she likes it and the product is well made I will get another one that way us and kids should all be ok.
Last year with the low inflatable bed wasn't great at all. Camping still new to us ... learning from mistakes
We had a coleman one for years and then last trip it kept going down. No obvious puncture or leakage around the valve so we had to bin it.
We were in Sports Direct at the weekend and saw they had a Gelert full height double airbed reduced from £90 to £45. We recognise the Gelert name so thought it would be OK.
Got it home, blew it up and it was rubbish.
No internal vertical structure, no matter how much you inflated it, it had no structural rigidity like the Coleman. Managed to get it deflated and back in the bag and I took it back for a refund.
We will buy another Coleman as it gave us 6 years good service.
------------- I can remember when this was all fields.

I started off with an old Lilo airbed and it was great until it finally popped it's clogs. I then went onto self inflating mats but eventually found scrabbling on the floor not good for my back so changed to a variety of airbeds, all of which seemed to lose too much air overnight, either leaking or due to the cold, or a combination of both.
After that I used a camp bed with my old self inflating mat on top and it was great but after a long time using that combination I started to feel a camp bed was too narrow so decided to try double height airbeds again.
The Tesco one I have now has been good for several trips with little air loss...so far!
Only one very minor problem with mine (and yours)...it has a built in 'pillow' or raised bit at one end which is the same end as the pump so when positioning it in the tent you always have to be aware of how far the cable will stretch to reach your power source. If it didn't have a 'pillow' you could position it any way round if that makes sense. It is not easy manhandling it when fully inflated.
Quick update...
Nearly 8 days in and the 2x beds seems to be holding quiet ok ,we been topping them up with air every evening as we like them quite rigid....we find them quite comfortable... I inflated both using a 12v battery and a 300v inverter with no problems.
Will keep u updated 😁
Just an aside, returning to camping wife wanted an airbed, bought a Coleman Comfort but now find none of the pumps I have will fit. Been to go out........ and found quite a range. But none of the assistants were able to assist in telling me apart from the Coleman [which was somewhat pricey] what else would fit. I lean towards a straight manual pump, but one which runs from the car on the 12v would also be an option, would appreciate thoughts and opinions, thanks

These should be able to help you with the current pumps that you have...
We've had an Argos double height king size air mattress for years and we love it.
The main thing to remember is to put something like a picnic blanket/rug underneath it to stop the cold from the floor, otherwise you may end up with wet body condensation in the sheets.

Beware, a double inflatable mattress with only one air compartment is like sleeping on a trampoline, if one of you moves the other bounces up and down..... Buy one with two compartments or two singles.....unless your like the bouncing up and down 😎
