We're away camping just now with new roof bars and they are whistling. We've tried taking the end caps off, putting them on, taping up gaps etc but can't seem to locate the problem.

They are Atera roof bars. Does anyone have any advice to make the rest of our holiday easier on the ears?

Are they the Atera lightweight aluminium aero dynamic ones or the square steel shaped ones?

My Cruz areo roof bars had a terrible whistle when I first started using them. The whistling was due to me not fitting the rubber infill strip to the underside of the bars next to the bracket that fixes the bar to the car roof. Electrical tape provided a temporary fix till I got home and fitted the strips.

That's why I needed a reply from the OP because the Atera aluminium aero roof bars also have a rubber indert strip and the steel ones don't.

No idea which they are. My oh says they came with a bit of rubber but no instructions so he'd no idea what it was for!
Thank you 😁

Is this another case of manufacturers bad fitting instructions or them not being read.......

It's simple, all you have to do is look at the shape of the roof bars at the end. If they are oval then they are the Atera aero dynamic ones, if they're square then they're the steel ones, that's exactly what I asked in my previous post.

It's a case of no instructions whatsoever!

Wouldnt take much to give instructions in the oacking vase would it. Some manufacturers seem to put details on the internet which is great unless of course you dont have access. Glad the problem as now been solved. Must have been awful having a piercing whistle following you every where you went in the car
