I have a royal ez4000 3 way fridge (rebadged dometic) that has suddenly started having issues with the gas knob. Previously it worked fine, the piezo ingniter worked and the flame remained on and steady. I have had the fridge on 240v earlier then I unplugged it and thought I would check the gas operation. The gas knob will push in but it does not turn at all, the gas does not flow and the igniter does not spark.

Anyone got any ideas?

Most obvious thing is the gas control valve has decided to get stuck.

You might be able to fiddle with it, or you might need to replace it?

Dometic spares are easily available it seems. I couldn't find a pic of it, do you know what model dometic it's like?

I think it is rebadged dometic but I'm not sure exactly what model.

It's not a rebadged Dometic appliance it's manufactured Royal Leisure and the model or part number is 772835.

Just check that the knob isn't fouling on the bodywork and won't actually go down far enough to be able to turn.

Unfortunately not, I've taken the knob off and tried to twist it with a pair of pliers, no joy.

I have had this problem a couple of times and it just sorted itself. On one occasion I used a vice grip gently on the plastic knob.
Maybe a little silicone spray on the brass would help?
