Another recommendation for the Weber Go Anywhere. The lid means more consistent cooking. The size is big enough for a heat log or two after BBQ-ing (if the campsite allows it). The stand keeps it off the ground and negates the need for bricks. The handle means you can carry it easily. The materials are sturdy and it'll last ages.
------------- 2019 trips booked so far:
Easter - Red Shoot, New Forest
May - Secret Campsite, Sussex
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Cadac Safari chef 2, just got one and it works a treat for two. Although if you are camping you will need the version that takes canisters
We use a Weber smokey joe, it comes on every camping trip with us. We use it as a bbq and also an outdoor oven, this year we put a pizza stone on it and did homemade pizzas, they are great little bbq’s. Definitely get a Weber chimney starter to use with it, takes all of the hassle away with well lit coals every time.
Can’t go wrong with a Weber, the Go Anywhere does great chicken from raw with indirect heat and the lid on. Sounds complicated but is a very easy dinner.
Appreciate im late to this partt but I'm another fan of the Webber go anywhere. The closed cooking makes it very easy to cook large quantities. It's rectangular shape means it tessellates easily when packing the car and it's easier to tesselate food on the grill! We don't bother to take our chimney with us when we go away, we use the starting time for a glass of wine and nibbles. It doesn't take long to get going if you keep the bottom vents open. The legs which fold to keep the lid on are genius. The only thing I miss is the lack of thermometer that comes on the bigger models. I've bought a thermometer, I'm just building up the courage to drill through our lid to fit it!
I think most of the models mentioned will be good, you just need to decide what suits your camping/cooking style. I'd also recommend trying to find somewhere to see them in person, much better to get a feel for what will work for you. We chose ours based on the fact my parents seem to have collected every possible option under the sun over the years but this is the one they went and bought a second of (not even to replace a dead one, to add to the one they had so they didn't have to get the bigger BBQ out at home!)
We had a Cadac ... which we loved ... but ended up only using the paella pan for pretty well everything ... still, a bit of a pain to clean/set up/take down/gas etc.
Now we use an electric 'flat iron' type ... wow, how simple ... and does everything we used to do on the Cadac .... is more compact, and much easier to clean.
I love my GoAnywhere.
The rectangular shape and folding legs are more space saving to pack than the Smokey Joe, but I guess round is better if you want to do pizza. Round pizza, anyway.
