I have a Trespass mac which is ideal in as much as it packs up small and large enough to go over a coat if it rains.

However, we were away at the weekend and in constant rain it just soaks through although it is Waterproof. It is marked 3000mm.

Can anyone recommend a lightweight mac that is more waterproof than this and breathable?

Have you washed it?   That'll kill the waterproof if you aren't careful. I go the other way and have a moderately substantial waterproof I wear over a fleece so if it's warmish and raining I can be not too cold but dry.   I really like mountain warehouse 's extreme waterproofs - lightweight I have the brisk

Yep but for some it could be a bit short but that's why I chose it over the bracken 3 in 1

Wore it to the rugby on Saturday and it kept me dry as a bone and not sweaty at all

With breathable waterproofs you get what you pay for. Pay out for a Berghaus & it will probably outlast 3 £30 macs.

I'm happy with my Regatta coat, it cost around £40 but was reduced from around £100, I got it from the Regatta Outlet website.
