The Petromax Atago is a gassifier design, but collapsible. It'll take your dutch pot, work as a fire pit and regular BBQ, plus you can get a convection hood so you can use it as an oven / indirect heat. And it's very shiny.
Tim, that stove looks brilliant, but so expensive! If I didn’t already have my other kit, I would be so tempted.
I love the idea of a rocket stove but we do always have a proper fire, and I think I am not hardcore enough to abandon gas for the coffee first thing. So I can’t really justify it.
If you buy a rocket stove you'll be able to pose beside it in photos you send here, you'll be able to introduce visitors to your pitch to it, you'll be able to slip mentions of it into normal campsite chat eg "Yes of course we'll come over for a glass of wine once we've cooked dinner on our ROCKET STOVE"
You'll become unspeakable!
Go on buy it, we know you want to.
PS I've just bought a one egg frying pan, it's fantastic photos to follow, glass of wine any one ?
Oh, please share photos of your one-egg frying pan!
I would SO pose if I had a rocket stove. I would set it up outside my canvas tent that I love but is totally impractical for me (nowhere to dry it, doesn’t fit in car) and be totally unashamedly unspeakable.
But I would pour cold white wine very generously from my Icey Tek for anyone who would come and put up with it.
I have access to A 3D cad package and a CNC plasma machine. I am currently working on a design for a flat-pack rocket stove which can be placed in the bottom of the car boot taking up minimal space then be slotted together in a couple of minutes.
Hope to get the prototype cut out in the next week or so. I'll let you know how it works.
------------- I can remember when this was all fields.
