Coleman 424 double burner. Uses unleaded petrol (available everywhere, unlike gas cylinders), very hot, economical.

Just use proper safety precautions. We've used one for over a year now and it's brilliant.

as above... coleman 424 is excellent... ive had one for 3 years, and it is superb... you can do stir fry's and everything...  as for a tent heater, we have a cloeman dual mantle petrol lantern... that lights and heats.

As above for a real HOT burner, if you prefer a gas stove, then I have used both a Sunngas (my current stove) and a Camping Gaz one, both are fine and well up to the job. Some models come with stand to make them the height of a camp kitchen, also if you are looking to use outside, make sure it has an in built windshield.

For the heater Coleman Black Cat heater, about £45 from camping shops, maybe less on the web. Excellent catalytic, NO visible flame heater. Had mine over 12 months and very impressed, easy to light, takes screw on gas cannisters and warms the TT in 15 mins.

We use a Tilley foldaway (top left on picture).  It has two rings and a grill (with pan) which cooks toast really quick.  Good strong burners plus the heat from grill rises up and keeps your kettle on the boil.

I quite fancy one of those Mary ,mind if I pick ya brains please? the only things that stopped me getting one was -the grill didnt seem very large ? how much can you actually fit under it ? and how much does the power of the burners suffer when your using the grill at the same time?

    Cheers

Instead of a 2-burner stove, I use a sunngas single burner, you know the flat square ones that come in a little suitcase, along with a campingaz party grill, which can be used as a regular stove or as a griddle.

For heating, the Coleman Black Cat.

Trouble is, I need to carry 3 different types of gas cartridges for these, so thats something worth considering when choosing.  I will keep the BlackCat, but when the other stuff needs replacing I will be looking for a stove and/or BBQ type grill that runs on the Coleman type cartridge.

missElaineous, you may be 'stuck' with the Party Grill for some time, we've had ours for 6 years and it's still going strong....I wouldn't be without it...!

The Gril is about 7" x 5", we had 4 big thigk sauasages on it and they had cooked in no time, the actual burner is 2.5" x 5" ish, but is slightly radiusd. So the heat is evenly spread.

We found it great..You can also use the camping gaz canisters the 907, but we got a 4.5kg butane and reg. Cheaper with the 4.5's

Say we had 4 sausages, packet od bacon and the kettle on the go, with no loss of heat.

I would reccommend it to anyone. Folds away quite nice also.
