Hi. I wanna get the campchef everest, but I want to use Butane. Is this possible? Can I use a butane regulator? I see conflicting advice everywhere! thanks
With the correct regulator I see no reason why you can't but why would you want to?
When it gets cold butane does not vaporise and you won't be able to use the cooker.

I think there is something regulating the flow of gas built into the stove. You can remove the pipe and replace it with a flexible hose like this which may or may not work with a calor propane cylinder, but I think you’re stuck with propane.

Just found this thread about the Everest. As I thought, propane only.

I never camp in the cold and the butane lasts longer
How have you arrived at that conclusion that Butane lasts longer?
Propane burns hotter than Butane therefore heats up kettles and pans more quickly so less LPG per canister is used.
However, the Camp Chef Everest is a Propane stove so the built in regulator will be compatible with the appliance as Propane and Butane operate at different BAR pressures.
There is no difference in the heat output between propane and butane.
A given quantity of butane will burn hotter than propane but in fact propane regulators release the gas at a higher rate to compensate.
Propane produces 96 Megajoules of energy per cubic metre.
Butane produces 126 Megajoules of energy per cubic metre .
As well is two words!
