In a normal domestic environment if you use induction hobs you should use the associated induction pans, kettles, etc

If the bases of your pan and kettle are stainless steel and will stick to a magnet then they should work on an induction hob. If they're aluminium they won't work.

Surprisingly no, our domestic one at home has 4 rings and only draws 3KW of power with them all on at Max, the unit runs off of a 13 Amp plug.

I wouldn't be replacing any cooking equipment at all, reason being is that if the ehu trips, and it may not be your doing, then your stuck till it gets fixed, gas can run out yes, but at least you can get a refill just about anywhere and have a little warning with its weight. ecconomise elsewhere
