HI! everyone, Just a quick question to you people who use a small fan heater on electric hook up , i've just had a nice little 2 Kw fan heater with 2 speed settings and thermostat given, question is if you leave it on in your unit through the night , dos'nt the blower on it keep you awake when the Thermo kicks in ????

The lesson is : NEVER TRY .
I leave it on a low setting if it is really cold because the cold keeps me awake more than when the thermo kicks in. I use ear plugs anyway, so it isn't a problem for me.
The anti frost thermo would only kick in around 0 degrees C or there abouts.
It was snowing last time we went camping and we had the fan heater on ALL NIGHT blowing into the sleeping compartment.
The noise is so constant and unfluctuating it's just background and doesn't interfere.

its a strange thing kev you get used to it humming the 1kw isnt anyquieter just takes longer to get the heat up to the temperature got the cb getting you a new mic do you want co ax cable? I have asked you this one another thread.
tried to send you an email but it got returned my email addy is d.foxton at talk21.com
It's quite a soothing sleepy sort of noise, sends me to sleep. If it is really irritating then get a convector instead as they are quiet, although they take up more room.

We have fan heater .... don't hear the noise once asleep ..... but wake up with really dry throat - so brought small oil filled radiator ...... no noise and no dry throat now
I was using an oil filled radiator in my motorhome but found it didn't chuck out enough heat last weekend in the folding camper so I'm going back to a fan heater for cold nights - may resort to the convector I used to use if I can't live with the noise, but the fan is so much smaller can go in a cupboard when not in use.
