We usually aren't camping in places with these type of facilities.
So I think I need something that will charge via the car but has the capacity to keep things nice and cool for the periods we're not running the engine..
you wont get any cool box to "charge" from the car, all you can do is plug it in the car every time you go out in it to chill it back down again, just get in the habit of not opening it too often and lots of things will stay cold just by being put into a bucket of cold water and kept in the shade with a wet towel over them
