With a lot of sites offering free WiFi around the clubhouse etc is there a way to access it when you are back at your pitch using a WiFi range booster or something?
There are a number of different solutions, but personally I've found the kit from Solwise to be pretty decent (see links). This uses an external aerial to pick up the site wifi, which in turn you can then redistribute within the van via the kits own router (which you can secure too). They can be funny to get your head round initially, as you need to login to the router at each site, to setup for picking up the right network etc.
I also have a higher gain directional aerial that sucks in a better signal.
My only tip, is to ensure the firmware of the router is up to date before heading out.
Can't speak for gadgets but the free C&CC wifi is available right across their site, no need for gadgets or to stand outside the office. Been on plenty of non Club sites with free wifi, and not needed a booster.
The issue for us is being on sites with no wifi at all, and having to use up mobile data. Or if you're in remote areas, there's zero mobile signal - Nice to detox, but a nuisance if you need to check if the dog walker that's been away too long has lost the dog.
