A quick question if anyone can help, how secure is a Daxara/ erde lockable lid? sometimes we like to stop over at a hotel on a long trip to the campsite, but as this is our first trailer we currently only have a cover so thinking of investing in a lockable lid to keep our stuff secure.
Many thanks for any help
Yep go for it, our trailer came with an ABS lockable lid, the lock is feeble but we add other security measures, at the end of the day if the low life’s want to get into your trailer they will.
It certainly is. I ended up speaking to the lock manufacturer (Pinet I think) to ask if I could order new locks with a different key and they told me they don't even make them with different keys!
The ABS lid gives a false sense of security without extra security measures.
I made a lid out of plywood and fixed it on with four padlocks.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
I bought a brenderup with abs lid for this reason, the abs lid has a steel frame so no chance of prizing it up, I assume the locks are individual? on this
