looking to buy extra long awning pegs any recommendations ?
after last years wind i want something sturdier for this year
guessing wind is going to be the norm these days
these are what i was looking at but do you think its a over kill

I now use screw-in pegs that you drive in with a battery drill. They should hold a lot more than conventional pegs.

Pick up two or three Road Pins from the builders merchants. They are not expensive. Cut them to the lengths you want and bend the ends over in a vice.
That’s what I did then spray painted them white so easy to see . 👍

We got 40cm marquee pegs from our local camp/caravanning shop for the awning storm straps, and carry a lump hammer for installing them. They are made out of rebar, and show no sign of shifting even in a gale.

Not sure, I don't have them here. I think they are about 10 inches, but all I remember about them is that you can't pull them straight out, you have to unscrew them.

I use Peggy pegs, they’re screw in pegs which you use a drill to drive them in and to get them out, I’ve got them ranging from 31cm to 20cm. They’re not cheap but they’re worth the money.

Meany, your image link is broken, so we can't see piccy you posted!

I used the screw in type pegs with a battery drill for my air awning and storm straps in a real beast of a storm last year (should really have taken awning down, definitely never meant to be left erected in gale force winds like that, but no opportunity, wind just came up without warning, so it took it's chances!), and it was fine.

Hi Meanie

I have used these marque type pegs (12 inches long) for the last 3 years on our seasonal pitch never move.

I didn't purchase them from here I got them from a place in Wolverhampton (The Trade Counter) but cant see them on their website now. but found this site on ebay similar sort of price to what i paid for about 30 pegs.

Cheap and they do the job I use a claw hammer to put them in and to remove them and I have never had a problem with them and I have an array of other specialised pegs which I only use on hard standing if the ground is hard

i use a mix of screwpegs and rockpegs, infact the only sudden bad wind we have encountered in france pulled the awning rail away which had been screwed to our unit that the awning was attatched to so had to repair that but the pegs held the awning to the ground firmly. We had had the awning rail put on our unit rather than use the fiamma type awning that was on the unit
