hi guys , i been looking for some second hand roof bars (just the bars) to fit on Thule Rapid System 754, i see other brands like the halford , Exodus Square Bars ,Paddy Hopkirk , ecc , they seems to use the same rails bars or am i wrong? thanx

The only way to find out if the different makes of bar would fit is to try them with the Thule foot pack. I would worry that the parts may appear similar and fit together but part company, complete with load, on a motorway and cause all sorts of mayhem and some interesting insurance claims.

I buy Thule because all the parts are interchangeable when you change car. I keep a look out on ebay and have bought 3 sets of bars locally over the last 10 years or so. Last week I bought a pair of Thule bars with foot pack and a 420 litre Halfords roof box for £43 so there are bargains out there.

What length bar do you need? I may have a duplicate set you could have cheaply. If you could put your location in your profile you may find someone local who could help you out.

Hi , I'm looking for the 135cm in length for a 2010 Mondeo estate, I do have 120cm...the rear fits ok ...the front is to short. ,I'm in Bracknell , thanks

I think you will find that the Thule square bars are 763 as the 754 are the aluminium oval shaped roof ones. However, don't take my answer as gospel so double check to see if I'm right or not.

I've just checked in the shed and I have got a spare pair of 135 bars. Unfortunately I'm almost 100 miles away on the other side of the Severn Bridge so it wouldn't be economical to have mine. How much are they in Halfords these days?

They are £42 the Halfords brand exodus ..the tile are £44 and they look the same, the guy at Halfords told me that Thule makes the exodus bar for Halfords
