Got to shout about this .... I dont post normally on here, just read through the forums.
Camping gaz 907.
I'm currently 5 or 6 nights in my camper running fridge and cooker. Saturday I’ve been quoted initially £36.00 but then two seconds later £46.50 "FOR A REFILL" i double checked and the lady confirmed the 46.50 (im still convinced she is wrong) price was correct. (Lots of my local suppliers don't have any in stock and others have just stopped selling them). I did find one for £36.20.
My vehicle is a Holdsworth T25 high top , space for two 907 campingaz bottles. I've been holding off putting in an underslung tank for a number of reasons.
But the "search engine" started to smoke in and out of different sites , what other bottle could I use in the space provided. Head exploding with all the different bottles weights, sizes , can I trim and adapt (but my camper is almost original i want to keep it that way).
But, I feel calm and happy that I'm now no longer going to be at the mercy of campingaz and its suppliers. I'm going to be able to have the fridge on gas all the time , cook more hot meals.
A legally refillable bottle the same size as the 907.
O yes there is.
Gaslow Direct Fill 2.7Kg Refillable Cylinder .
Now I had a shock at the initial outlay , but quick calculations just over 4 refills and I've paid for the bottle and the 5 refill and I'm now at break even point and in pocket. (Figures worked out on £36.00 for a refill)
It holds 4.6 litres ( at 80%) at 64 pence per litre Average price equates to £2.94 per fill...
I used "Vangas" to order through, and it was with me within two days (that is service)
The one I ordered comes with necessary regulator and direct fill adapter (for the UK and you can buy ones for the other countries too). They also sell kits for the fill point to be on the van too
Nb you might be able to get other sizes in your vehicles and they also do the tanks too.. hope its ok yo post a link .

Nb. On the larger refill cylinders it would take you longer to recoup your initial outlay.
I've been told its possible to get the bottles refilled at a Domestic filling location and the price per litre drops even more . (Does anyone know of any in Kent/ sussex)

Through the Search facility there are quite a number of posts on the subject of Gaslow, some might be of use to you.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
That’s handy to know Donnad123, I use very little gas, and also carry two 907’s as we only ever go camping in France.
But I agree the cost of a CampinGaz refill is outrageous.
I think you have found an ideal solution especially for those with camper vans.
I have recently acquired an empty Le Cube 5kg Propane cylinder and will be exchanging that for a 6kg Le Cube Butane next time we are in France, refill cost for Le Cube is €19 which for me is a bargain compared to what CampinGaz prices are.
I am thinking of carrying two Le Cube’s, as I can always make space in the trailer.
Thanks again for the heads up, I am sure others will be most interested.
DeepT.
The safety side of things , completely agree, but putting the bottles in a water bath to see if they leak.. omg I do that to my bicycle tyres , well a little spray of water. And I can and do use a leak detection spray when I change any bottle. As It may not be the bottle but the connection that is faulty.
Availability.. the availability is useless, the retailers local to me just are not stocking campingaz.
