Hi,

I have the above double gas burner that uses C500 Performance Threaded Gas Cartridge (EN417). This gas burner can also use camping gaz 907. What I would like to do is run it off a 3.9kg propane cylinder. Has anyone any experience of doing this with this type of burner?

TIA

Richard

If you can run it off a Campingaz 907 then presumably that is with the screw in regulator in bottle connected to stove with rubber gas pipe & jubilee clip yes ? If that is the case then yes you can connect a Calor propane cylinder with correct regulator connected to stove same as 907.

What is the stove connection ? If it is just the normal nipple that will fit rubber gas pipe secured with jubilee clip then any camping shop will stock gas hose & 37mb regulator to fit Calor propane bottle.

I have correct gas hose and the required regulator. I have attached photos of the cooker including a gas cylinder that I would normally use. I have also attached a photo of the propane 3.9kg cylinder that I wish to use. Any pointers, advise or direction that I can go in would be gratefully received.

Turns out it is not simple & possibly not possible. Looking at a YouTube video of the stove it appears the only way you can do it is either remove existing hose & regulator & replace with nipple to be able to attach rubber hose direct to stove or source an adaptor to attach existing hose & regulator direct to Calor bottle. Otherwise your cheapest way of running stove is to use adaptor with 907 bottle but still twice as expensive to run than Calor bottle.

It is a pity you bought this stove because there are much cheaper 2 burner stoves available with nipple to connect straight to Calor bottle

Thanks. I will keep looking and hoping. I have asked Primus, waiting for their response.

Have a look at this video Here. It shows that a pol adaptor is available to fit your Calor propane bottle & also an adaptor described as DIN combi which I think is the left hand thread 21.8mm butane nut which will fit direct to a 4.5kg Calor butane bottle which you can exchange for your same size Calor propane bottle.

So there is a solution for you if you could source either of those adaptors.

Did you have any luck?

My Weber also does the screw in cainisters but I have an adapter to use it on the clip on patio gas.

It screw on ok but leaks.

The brass fittings that came with it don’t seem any use. Any ideas?

I have a solution that will enable me to use a 3.9kg propane cylinder into a Threaded Gas Cartridge (EN417) fitting.

I'll post some pictures of my solution, actually is my friend's.
