New owner of 1998 Toyota Regius Hiace but no manual and completely new to campervans so all good advice much appreciated!
I have bought new 230v 16A hook up cable and 13Amp domestic adaptor cable so assume i can just plug into my hook up outlet on the van to charge?
There is a charge indicator panel inside the van just by the fridge which has a few switches, one that says 'Charger Supply Off/On' so do i need to switch this to 'On' position to charge?
There is also a switch selector for Pump, again just an Off/On switch, so wondering what this is for, is it the pump for the sink tap or something else?
I am trying to get a complete van manual but not had much luck yet so if anyone out there has a similar type of van (registered 1998 in Japan but converted in UK in 2015, 3L diesel 4x4 auto), then please let me know if you have a source for the manual?
I doubt if the manual you are looking for ever existed.
Most motorhome builders or converters would supply only the owners manual for the base vehicle (from Ford, Fiat etc) if new and the instruction books/leaflets for the bits they added, i.e. fridge, cooker, toilet etc.
Searching online by appliance manufacturer should get you PDFs of the various instruction books.
A useful source of information is the good old Haynes manual!
If you are driving the van regularly all year then leisure battery will charge while driving so no need to charge. If van will be parked without use over winter for more than a month then probably best to remove both batteries keep in garage & charge monthly with a smart charger.
When plugged into ehu leisure battery may charge but not all vans are set up to charge engine battery as well. Best way is to drive van regularly all year then no need to plug in or charge batteries separately.
