We have had a Lafuma Louisiane for about 15 years and it has been great. A few years ago it had a little accident but my husband and some basic DIY skills screwed it all back together again and it will probably last us another 15 years! It would be too small for 4 but I believe the larger version of it is called the Arizona.

One of my 3 roll top table has an adjustable leg, the twist type as seen in adjustable hanging rail for shower curtains, and I have difficulties in securing the extendable section of the leg in place.

It is therefore advisable to check how easy it is to push the extendable section back in by applying force on the top of the table.

Adjustable legs with metal spring buttons are more secure, however, I suspect they would cost more to manufacture.

I'd say if you wanted a 'proper' decent sized fold up table. The new generation of paste tables are the ones to have. Good size, and will never break.

For years we had one of those cheap picnic tables and seats which fold up into a (large) brief case sized pack. It did us and our teenage children, with a few repairs here and there. It finally gave up the ghost after about 10 years. As the original cost around £14 I reckon this was good value for money.

I had one of those as part of my starter kit as it was cheap.

However, it did not last long, and nearly had an accident when someone got up suddenly and nearly toppled the whole thing by the person who remained seated.

The latch broken after that trip too, and was consigned to the bin.
