I have just bought a caravan and it’s come with an air awning. I don’t need it as I already have one so I was going to sell it. My brother in law took it away and used it this week to check it over and came back to let me know there’s mild patches on it, anyone know the best way to get this off and stop it returning, the previous owner must have put it away wet after the last outing. Thanks in advance

Milton is just a dilute form of Household Bleach (Sodium Hypochlorite), so all the same precautionary measures apply.

You've two objectives, one is cosmetic improvement in appearance, the other is killing the mould spores to stop mould reappearing too readily (perhaps less bothered about that if selling!), Milton/Bleach can achieve that but at a risk of fading fabric colour and if left too long or not rinsed thoroughly potentially damage to fabrics depending on material used in awning construction. Ideally you need to find out materials used in awning then Google 'Chemical resistance of XXXX to Sodium Hypochlorite'. Bear in mind, most awning flysheets are coated, so both base fabric and coating need to be checked.

I've certainly done old tents, and they've been OK.

I would avoid any bleaching agent such as 'Milton' or Dettol 'Mould & Mildew' Remover therefore I would be tempted to use ordinary washing powder diluted with warm water. It's amazing what stains it will shift without doing any harm to the material.
