Hi,
Looking to venture out camping pretty soon.
And I need to buy 5 new chairs, and ideally two of them to be reclining or one's that you can add a footstool to.
Any advise would be appreciated - I have always liked the Outwell Range, but there seems to be so much choice out there and a lot of them appear to be out of stock anyway.

Are you concerned about weight ? If so you want aluminium frame. Cheap ally chairs generally have short lives & expensive brands like Lafuma are £60 up. If not so concerned about weight go for steel frame.

I wanted lightweight chair to go in bag to also carry to beach so I got a pair of These

I also got one of These also dead light & it reclines. Shop around you can buy them for £60 odd. Cheap £30 copies will fall apart though.

I have also had a pair of These for several years now. Steel frame & strong. Rather heavy though. I just keep them for the garden now. Good for reclining in.

Thanks for posting.
I have a trailer so not too bothered about weight. But obviously with 5 chairs on board it will add weight so maybe I should be.
I'm thinking of 2 reclining ones for the adults and 3 not reclining for the children (ages 13, 11 & 10).

Please don’t just go on “value”. I’d never buy a seat without having sat in one. Too many aren’t comfy because they dig into the back of my legs or the seat is too narrow. And for us, the recliner types are no use because they’re too big to go into our MH locker.
So just buy the very cheapest so you have something to sit on for now, but you may need to keep looking for the comfiest.

I went through a number of camping chairs since I started tent camping in 2007, and carry the following in my van currently:

- A Regatta padded folding camping chair
- 2 folding aluminium bistro chair
- A stool/table
- A Lafuma Relaxation chair

I found the Regatta folding chair or those with a similar design too low for sitting down at a normal height table. In addition, it is too wide to be pulled close to the table.

I have had the folding aluminium bistro chairs for home use as spares in case I have guests, and took two with me for camping since 2007.

The stool/table is mainly use as a small table, for eating on my own and when I need a table to put things on it when I am cooking on the BBQ. From time to time, I would use it as a footstool in conjunction with my Regatta folding chair.

The Lafuma recliner was a recent addition that I bought last year to use at home in the garden during lockdown, and have yet to use it on a camping trip this year as the weather had not been favourable. Hopefully, it will see some daylight now the weather is nicer.

At home, I have two folding camping chairs from Lidl of different designs; one is the usual type and the other is based on Helios. I carry the former in my car that I take to visit friends etc., and have yet to use the other one as I found it more difficult to assemble. Both are decent quality.

We have two Isabella recliners, one with foot stall, aluminium frames, expensive. Also two Aldi semi recliners also aluminium frames. Half the cost and in my humble opinion more comfortable.

I bought a couple of Hi Gear Kentucky chairs last summer - while they still fold up and are reasonably lightweight, they have a higher back so the support is better. I can really relax into the seat and even my head can rest on the seat back. Not recliners, but comfy and not too expensive. Here they are : https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?s=440107&v=3549&q=211961&r=62066=&p=https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/15903136/hi-gear-kentucky-classic-chair-15903136
