I went through a number of camping chairs since I started tent camping in 2007, and carry the following in my van currently:
- A Regatta padded folding camping chair
- 2 folding aluminium bistro chair
- A stool/table
- A Lafuma Relaxation chair
I found the Regatta folding chair or those with a similar design too low for sitting down at a normal height table. In addition, it is too wide to be pulled close to the table.
I have had the folding aluminium bistro chairs for home use as spares in case I have guests, and took two with me for camping since 2007.
The stool/table is mainly use as a small table, for eating on my own and when I need a table to put things on it when I am cooking on the BBQ. From time to time, I would use it as a footstool in conjunction with my Regatta folding chair.
The Lafuma recliner was a recent addition that I bought last year to use at home in the garden during lockdown, and have yet to use it on a camping trip this year as the weather had not been favourable. Hopefully, it will see some daylight now the weather is nicer.
At home, I have two folding camping chairs from Lidl of different designs; one is the usual type and the other is based on Helios. I carry the former in my car that I take to visit friends etc., and have yet to use the other one as I found it more difficult to assemble. Both are decent quality.
