hi thinking of getting a tent and being older person would need a air bed and a double so what's the best one in your appinion please

My two tips would be, -

If you need a double because there are two of you, get the version as two independently inflated beds in one unit, that way you con't get disturbed when the other person gets on or moves.

Buy and place a foam sleeping mat underneath it to thermally insulate you from the cold floor.

We have been happy with the Coleman make.

2 Ropes top and bottom. Sleeping mats on top for insulation.
Can also put them underneath as well.

3 We use Coleman.

Sorry, can't advise on airbed as I lost faith in them after my trusted double one developed a leak mid trip while I was camping over Christmas in 2011.

I was close to home so I went back to get the single one out to continue with the trip.

After that trip, I would not use or recommend an airbed ever again, and switched to a more reliable as well as more comfortable sleeping system, as in a self-inflating mattress on top of a camp bed.

It is much cosier than an airbed, as well as being more practical as the bed is higher and easier for me to get in and out.

Personal preferences and all that based on my own experience.

I have a raised double Coleman extra durable air bed which is great as long as you have carpet between bedroom floor and airbed and I also put a fleecy blanket under fitted sheet.

If I'm going for only a couple of nights, I have a Decathlon 70 air bed frame which has slatted struts and then lay a self inflating mattress on top.

Both the above have given me a sound nights sleep.

Further to my original post, I found that a Self Inflating Mat was more comfortable than an air bed although more expensive.
