Morning all, we have just picked up our brand new swift sprite fb caravan a few days ago. and im just looking for a bit of advice on which are the best caravan polish to use . i want to keep it well protected, so any good suggestions will be much appreciated thanks - shaun.
Do you polish your car? if you do, then that's what to use.
If not I use either Autoglym or Meguiars. Autoglym is the easier to work with though.
------------- XVI yes?

How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
The problem with Autoglym polish is that if you get it on the rubber window surrounds you can't get it off, very much the same as people have found the same application with the car. That's why I use Greased Lightning Showroom shine as you can clean the whole caravan including the windows and roof vents and leaves no residue on the rubber window surrounds at all. One products cleans everything so saves time and money in the long term.
The only problem with Greased Lightning is, it's not a 'proper' polish.
Polish on rubber on the van, if you're careless enough to get it on , is easy enough to take off, a chamois soaked in hot water, job done.

We had our caravan done with Paintseal so no need to polish it as a good rain storm makes it look like it has just been polished. Best investment we ever made as our caravan is kept in storage so not always easy to wash down and polishing is now beyond my physical abilities.
On previous caravan we used Meguirs 3 step and the results were very pleasing. We did not have to wash or polish the caravan again for another 2 years at which point we sold it anyway.

Never had that problem with Autoglym super resin polish Tango and I have used it for years?.
A lot of these polishes all seem to have a bit of cut to them,
If I had a new van I think that I would only go near it with something pure like canuba just for overwintering
Please don't get mixed up over polish, and wax. Mer is a polish, and it's what I use after using a claybar on the car. Mer cuts the paint back, much the same way as T Cut but a bit milder. When all the marks at taken out with Mer, it's then time to seal the paintwork with a good wax finish. And Meguires is amongst the best. It's probably the same process that iank01 used.
