hi, booked a serviced pitch for may and one in june, not been on one before, any recommendations for waste water pipes and drinking water pipes, ive some some drinking water ones that have a ball cock arrnagement inside the aquaroll roll, this controls the water level in the aquaroll, also seen the collapse system for waste water, any one ised these systems and are they any good, i was thinking of getting some 40 mm waste pipe for thewaste

Hi there. We use exactly the ones you’ve described. We’re still very much novices so I wouldn’t yet feel comfortable with a direct feed for water in to the caravan. The aquaroll ball cock arrangement is perfect for us as is the colapz waste pipes. Just to make you aware though we had to buy the extension to the aquaroll hose as we’ve not visited a site yet where the standard length would have reached.

I use white pp 32 mm for the waste, carry 6 of them each 2.4m inwith push fit straight line connectors and a couple of right hand bends plus a length of the 27mm convoluted hose for the final fit into the drain. Not been caught out yet. With regard to the fresh water supply, does your van have a plug in hose capability? Ours has a whale gizmo on the end of the hose that regulates water pressure into the van, if you don't have that then the aquaroll with the ball valve is a perfect solution, we used that on our previous van and it was trouble free.

Another one using 32mm pushfit pipe and fittings, our pipes are cut in half and live in the gas locker. I used Toolstation for the pipe and Screwfix for the fittings, our branches are next door to each other.

You may well get a TV connection, though not all serviced pitches have them.
We’d use our whale water fitting (as suggested) but we’d set up our grey water canister & empty it down the drain as usual. We use the site showers as it’s quicker & easier, so we’re only generating washing up water.

2024 = 20 sites / 41 nights. 2023 = 9/23. 2022 = 13/35. 2021 = 11/29. 2020 = 4/20. 2019 = 13/35. 2018 = 20/33. 2017 = 10/22. 2016 = 19/33. 2015 = 15 sites / 27 nights. Didn't count 1976 to 2014.

We use a whale aquasource which has around 7 metres of hose, we also have a 10 metre extension and negates the need for using the aquaroll, for waste we use colapz waste kit, however there are a couple of issues with the waste kit:

1) I’ve been on a few pitches where the supplied four pipes have not been long enough (usually ok but a couple of times the pipes have been around 6 inches too short, toyed with buying extra pipes but haven’t yet)

2) because the pipes are flexible, it’s quite hard to get the waste to drain out of them on some pitches, collapz do some pegs to help with this

Cant be serviced pitches then, can they? I thought these all had their own tap?

I have 2 x 6m lengths of 32mm concertina pipe with a connector if i need it. They live coiled in old awning carpet zip up cases. One end on the outlet, and a tent peg through the other end at the drain or wherever its destined (ditch etc.)
