Towsure advertise a price match policy on their website.

I was looking to buy 2 x chairs and leg rests - totalling over £500 - but found them a bit cheaper on other websites so requested a price match online, giving product details and links to the identical items on competitor's websites.

I received an email, simply stating they could not price match on this occasion. They gave no reason, so I queried if they had withdrawn their price match policy. They responded that the items were out of stock with their competitors:

'We try to match where possible. However after this was checked the items are out of stock on the alternative website.'

I checked, and found this was untrue. On pointing this out to them, they responded again that they could not price match.

I'd hoped to purchase all four items from one reasonably local store, but they clearly don't want or need the business. That's their prerogative, but why advertise a policy you won't uphold (and waste customers time in supplying product details and website links etc) and why claim products are out of stock with competitors when they're really not? That's a fob-off, which I don't appreciate.

What a disappointing potential shopping experience, and a waste of time. I won't be attempting to use Towsure again.

How much £ was the “a bit cheaper”? If you’re talking £5, it’s hardly worth the hassle of pressing for the money off. If £50, I can see the point.

About £65 difference on the order (£509.80 Towsure, £444 competitor). Their loss (but my waste of time).

I know a lot of companies used to offer UKCS discount but sadly no evidence of that with Towsure now, not even when I mentioned UKCS.

Never mind, not the end of the world, I just thought I'd make other campers on here aware that their price match policy is discretionary, even if you do meet all of their published T&Cs. Probably best to go direct to the competitors and not waste your time providing website links and SKUs etc.

The only store I've found who are genuinely happy to price match is GoOutdoors. Even better,they beat the competitor's price by a further 10%. It's too bad they don't stock the chairs and footrests I'm after.
