Can anyone recommend a good trolley? We have looked at the Coleman and the Beau Jardin Folding Wagon big price difference and reviews are mixed. I need one that will go through the sand when fully loaded

You propose buying a trolley/wagon, filling it up with heavy stuff, including perhaps a small child and dragging it along in sand.
Get one with narrow wheels and the wheels will cut deeply into the sand until the body runs aground.
If you see 2 trolleys at the same price get the one with the bigger wider wheels.
The ones with the bigger wider wheels tend to be more expensive so be prepared to spend more

If I had a large enough vehicle and a child I consider this item:
Rhyas Wagon with Canopy Cart Trolley Camping Festival Beach Child Bow Roof Wheel, it would become a beach shelter and a den for the child once on the beach and it looks so cool.

Got to fully agree with Bramston, the bigger the diameter and wider the wheels the better, otherwise you'll be dragging a plough THROUGH the sand rather than rolling wheels over it!

It also needs to be a fairly hefty construction, dragging across sand puts a LOT more strain on the frame and axles than rolling it on even a lawn or hard dirt path. You'll get a lot of torsional twisting on a beach which may prove too much for weak joints.

Not sure 'cheap' is going to cut it, needs to be a quality item.

Thank you for your replies. We dont have any children to put in it we are in our 60’s and thought it would be easier than carrying chairs, cool bag etc

Ah yes, I see now.(I hadn't noticed that long link)

When we used to "tent" at larger festivals, we used a proper HD/works non-folding sack truck, which had large pneumatic tyres (a bit on the bulky side maybe but we'd see loads of broken and "dead" brand new looking cheapie trolleys littering the route from the carparks..with axles and "welds" snapped, wheel "bearings" failed etc etc

Having said that, I had a little van at the time, so we just pre-loaded the trolley at home(ratchet straps, not just bungees..)and loaded it all in the van in one go.
But as mentioned, if I needed something that folded, I'd probabaly look at spending a minimum of £60-70 on a basic but sturdy fishing trolley?

We have one very similar to this - and we did also have a small child in it. Picked it up on eBay for £30!
