Have now bought a airbed to go on top of the decathlon air base ,
It's a Active Era ,blew them up to try and had a little lie down 2 and a 1/2 hours later woke up. Unbelievably comfortable. Can't wait till next week to try them in the tent.

I slept on a 'red n blue' rubberised cotton airbed for several months when I broke my leg and needed my own space without fear of being kicked by my boyfriend (now OH). It rarely needed pumping up. I did put a duvet below and over the top for extra comfort but one of those fake sheepskin underblankets like a fitted sheet would work well. Oh, and as has been said, insulation beneath also helps.

The Decathlon base looks good (I've quite fancied one myself to aid that floundering whale feeling at night) but you need to have the necessary head/foot height and/0r correspondly sufficient floor space.

Currently in a field using the Decathalon camp bed air, two toggled together with a Coleman dual chamber on top. I would say you may need something between the air bed and base as the squeeking wakes you up. Perhaps a picnic rug or fitted sheet. On top of the Coleman we have a double quilt, fitted sheet and quilt in a teddy fleece duvet cover. Nice and toasty.
