For years I've managed with a mix of a Beauclaire (think Cadac - propane or butane powered, one large ring, big griddle plate) that's been fantastic. It's showing it's age now with some rusty legs but it's still going strong. Alongside that I've used a canister stove (Pocket Rocket.)
What I'd really like to do though is simplify on fuel sources, take a Y-splitter from the patio gas and run a second stove off the second feed. This will just be used for boiling the kettle, cooking rice etc - the Beauclaire will still be doing the heavy lifting.
a) is using a Y-splitter in this way safe?
b) what should I be looking at stove wise?
Most of what I've been looking at so far (Cadac Citi Chef, Carri Chef) etc look like overkill for what I need. I'm hoping for something relatively simple and compact.
Any bright ideas?
