We bought an Issabella awning some years ago. We also bought a porch awning conversion kit, which consists of a pole and padding for one side of the awning.
By buying a slightly smaller awning and cutting into the "cord", we now have an awning which is normal at the front of the 'van but is like a porch awning at the rear.
Just before lockdown we had it professionally re-corded and stitched. It works a treat for us.
I'm sure any awning dealer could explain the process.
