We're getting ready for our very first trip out in our 1997 Swift Lowick. I thought I'd better put the awning up before departure. I think I have it sussed, but I wonder how the poles go against the caravan.

From the pictures, there is a flat plastic bracket with a hole. Three in total (three poles) - they go against the van somehow? There isn't any bracket on the van. Am I missing something?

Also, you can see in the picture that the plastic screw thingy is broken. Are these easy to get hold of?

Any help or advice would be very welcomed.
Thanks
Tanya

i've not seen that type of fixing before , buuut,
have a look inside the awning fabric ,near the edge where the fabric threads onto the caravan, there may be three attachments on the fabric that the plastic bit fits onto,.
also the plastic "screw thingy" can be replaced by a metal one, availlable from caravan shops or Towsure

I predict a riot !!

Thank you, that makes some sense to me, there were some fabric pockets. I'll need to take another look.

Thanks, that what I thought but they're supposed to be at the top for sure. The feet of the poles look different.

What make and model awning? Looking at the pictures I would say that is the bit that goes on the ground (as already mentioned)
