Our island bed mattress is beginning to be less comfortable… or we’re getting old! I read a comment on the forum last year about duvalay v Jonic. I contacted Jonic for a quote for a mattress topper and it’s around £250. Can anyone recommend this company and / or do you think that’s a lot of money? I know all things caravan carry a surplus price tag!

We went into Dunelm and bought a duvet and use that as a mattress topper. Lovely and comfortable and only a fraction of the price.
Thanks for your advice. We've used a memory foam one previously but it doesn't really make it much better.
are you talking about getting something to put on top of your current mattress? or replacing the whole mattress? because i wouldnt be paying out £250 for topper thats for sure when you can buy a double mattress for less than that sort of money
Very true, but it won't have the curved ends though.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
We have had a Duvalay topper on our double bed at home for several years now - completely transformed our saggy mattress.
We also have the Duvalay sleeping bags in our caravan (had them 12 years now and only replaced the duvets, with identical ones but much cheaper from Dunelm) and still sleep very comfortably on them.
Duvalay products are expensive but if you use your 'van a lot I would say the outlay is worth it, especially if you can wait for one of their sales.
Isn't it amazing that anything 'caravan' increases its price considerably. I could easily buy a new mattress but to get one for an island bed means it's suddenly a whole lot more money! 🤣😂
Putnams will make new mattresses and seat cushions to measure. Might be worth giving them a call. I've not used them for this, but have bought other things from them.
I acquired a superking John Lewis memory foam topper that was being given away. I cut it in half and sewed gussets in the covers to enclose the cut edge. This made 2 toppers, each with their own zip cover for our folding camper. They've completely transformed the comfort level.
We have a shaped Duvalay topper on our fixed bed and found it comfortable enough. However, a few years ago, my elderly mum was coming away with us in the caravan so I went to B&M and bought an inexpensive memory foam topper for her to use on the front bed. When I tried it out, I thought it was more comfortable than the far more expensive Duvalay. You can easily cut memory foam toppers using a bread knife or to get an even better cut, using an electric carving knife, so it is simple to shape the corner cut outs yourself.

We have the Jonic topper and it is far superior to any of the stuff that Duvalay produce. Unfortunately we learnt the hard way!
Could I ask how long you've had it? My OH is an accountant, so will work out the amortisation!
