Will all inverters run a tv please. Not sure if some outputs are not suitable?

Inverters tend to be rather inefficient, you may be better buying a 12v television.

+ 1 for getting a 12 volt set.
Don't forget the inverter will be putting a strain on your battery as well.

Do you already own the inverter and tv? If so even if it's a modified sine wave inverter it should be fine with your TV.

If budget is no object then ideally buy a pure sine wave inverter ( much more expensive though than a modified wave version), or a 12v TV !

As stated inverters aren't very efficient but will do the job if you don't want to buy a new TV and have ample battery capacity.

Many thanks everyone. Just got the camper and the inverter is already installed. The tv we have spare is not 12v. So will have to try inverter to start with. Not sure if it's a sinewave or modified sinewave. Will give it a try tomorrorw. Many thanks.

Fired this up today and this inverter runs tv fine. It is a bit noisy tho! Do they all make a noise like a fan running? Or do you think this one is getting on a bit?

Or use a TV aerial with your existing TV. Or even (as we do) take your TV and sky box and get a satellite system

I would imagine that most of them do have a fan inside to keep the electronics cool, but if it is exceptionally noisy it could be that the fan bearings are worn out.

Bear in mind that inverters take quite a bit of battery power in themselves, on top of what the item running from them takes. Consequently they can drain a battery quite quickly if used for long periods without the engine running.

Alternatively, use EHU & standard small tv plugged into 3 pin socket. Or tether the tv to the mobile phone & use data or site Wi-Fi.
