Hello,

not posted on here for a while. Am looking for solar panel ideas to charge phone and medical devices when off grid for a few days with a tent ( insulin pump monitor/ phone has glucose monitor app)...will be taking a couple of power packs as back up, but would be handy to top them up with solar. The campsites have either metered ( a few mins) socket or nothing so there is no practical option there.

I have checked a few reviews but a bit of practical advice/experience would be helpful 🙂 TIA

what do you mean "The campsites have either metered ( a few mins) socket "

phone can be charged by 12v from your car, and you need to check if the insulin pump can be supplied to run off 12volt

dokio foldable 200 watt panels would do the job.. you would need a battery for the panels to charge though.. ideally a small power station 600 watts or so but it all comes down to what you want to run of the system..

Check what power requirements for the all appliances you intend to use?

I'm not sure what power is required for an insulin monitor but defo check that.

For a portable solar panel here are some:

Solar panel with portable power station that is midrange in terms of power but there are tonnes of options:

I have a Jackery 500 (with Solar Panel)

I bought mine with out a Solar Panel, and bought a Renology 100w Solar Panel, I would have bought battery and Solar Panel at the same time in hindsight, as Solar was an after thought.

This was purchased to run a cPAP device, however, I have also used to power a Fridge as well as a LED light My cPAP uses about 8% of the battery per night, so I would stop using other appliances before the battery got below 10%

Best Regards
Nathan

you pay a pound in a meter and get a few minutes to boil a kettle or dry hair and its one socket on whole site! For the other site...Car is not an option as parked a distance away from camping area ...festival car parking not really accessible
