Which is the better option?
For myself and my currently 4 year old
I'm looking at camp bed and a 7.5-10cm sim set up. Space isn't an issue in my tent but I can't decide which is the best idea and I don't want to spend ££££. Here are my thoughts what are yours?
Double= more room for me to spread
Mommy daughter cuddles
Singles= can be pushed together to make a double
Gives us the option to sleep apart when daughter is a bit older
I've been looking at the quechua ultim comfort 70 sim as they can be clipped together
We use two single beds & SIMs with a double sleeping bag on top. Check the widths before you buy so everything works together. Our set up doesn't drift apart, but you could secure the beds with cable ties or just string / guy line if it becomes a problem.
OP, have you checked your bedroom area can accommodate a double camp bed or two singles side by side without touching the tent/flysheet to minimise wicking/water ingress?

We have the decathlon bed bases which clip together to make a double, with the outwell dreamcatcher 7.5cm sim on top and a double sleeping bag. it has done us for the past few years. Now my child is 7 and has requested his own bed. so I have bought some Andes sims (seem better than the outwell) and single square sleeping bags. We are going at half term so will see how it goes. Can always clip the bases back together with a sheet can have a double base again, then open sleeping bag to make a quilt ?
