Has anyone had experience of using a cordless powerwash? The Aguri one seems to hit all the buttons but would like to know if they are a waste of money or a good investment for cleaning the caravan?
There are quite a few different makes on the market and prices ranging from £60 to over £200. We have recently bought a larger caravan and can no longer get it on the driveway to wash it.

I would never recommend using a pressure washer on a caravan. I always use a brush, then a hose with a spray attachment to rinse off. Never direct a jet on the seams.

Thanks Colin but we dont have access to a tap and the pressure from the cordless one can't be very great.

I have in the past, used a 12v submersible pump in a bucket of water for washing down car/caravan

I have a Worx power wash kit with a shampoo bottle and a brush as well as the normal lance. I'm very careful not to blast any areas near seams or openings and it might be ok to get nearer than I do but I prefer to be cautious. The pressure is a lot lower than the mainstream washers but I look at this as being a positive feature.

I use this a lot for car cleaning and so far only once on the caravan and it has always done a good job though it really needs a touch more pressure to activate snow foam properly. It did a good job on the caravan roof with the foam but I had to agitate the foam with a long handled wash brush to get the gunge moving which I then rinsed off using the spray setting on the lance instead of a jet which is better suited to cleaning mud off the bottom of the car or cleaning muck off the patio.

Keep an eye on the deals for these from Screwfix and Toolstation as well as Amazon, Worx sometimes sell on eBay as well.

you can get waterless cleaning systems.. i am assuming you have to start off with a reasonably clean van.. you have a special micro fibre mop thing and stuff in a squirty battle.. there are youtube reviews on people using them..

they claim to clean and wax all in one go.. assuming they work they look useful..

Van doesn't need to be particularly clean to use a waterless cleaner, and no special mop thingy needed just some plain old micro fibre cloths.

Have been using it for years on the car and van whilst away on site, gets round the no washing on site rule.

the one I favour is Meguiars

i just bought some (ebay) to try on my cars and van.. :)

a squirty bottle 10 cloths and a 5 litre bottle of stuff.. that should do me for a while..

We have the Worx hydroshot and are very pleased with it. I wouldn’t call it a pressure washer, it is more like a portable hose that works by dropping one end into a bucket of water. It gives a spray of water that works for rinsing down the caravan. We bring the aquaroll home with us, fill it with water while still in the boot of the car, drive back to the caravan and there is enough water to rinse the Caravan sides. If we are doing the roof it takes more than one aquaroll full.

We don’t have water at our storage yard so this works well for us.

Hi Pixie, we went and splashed out on the WORX Hydroshot which was delivered the other day. Tried it out at home and ideal for the windows with a bucket of rainwater from the water butt, no streaks on windows. Also cleaned a few slabs on the patio which I wasn't expecting it to do. We have the same idea of filling aqua roll and washing at the storage yard and even perhaps taking it with us if we go away for 2-3 weeks.

Hi atkinbrown. I hope it works out for everything you need. One tip when using it on the caravan. If you are sucking water up from the aquaroll, it works best if the source of the water is up as high as possible. We transfer water from the aquaroll into a bucket and then set the bucket on the top of our step ladder before dropping in the suction hose. This extra height seems to make the water come out in a more even stream, I guess the motor is not having to work so hard to suck up the water if it is already at the same height or higher than the washer itself.

Most dealerships use jet washes to clean their caravans so no issue there is you know what you are doing. I think the idea is not to have it at full blast around window, locker and door seals. To date we have never had a problem and we take our caravan to the jet wash facility down the road.

cordless power washers are normally about 20psi, no problem on the caravan with careful usage. Mine also came with a brush.
