Thinking of replacing the old micro wave in the caravan (700 watts) for one of a similar power.
Will any 700 watt be suitable (as long as it fits)? The reason I ask this is I read that as there is a big power surge on start up and you may trip the site mains (?) but if it is changed 700 for 700 I assume this will be ok ?
Reading info on google it left me with the impression that microwaves for caravans are different and have a soft or slow start with regards to the initial power drawn (like that of radio amplifiers etc).

Any 700 watt M/Wave will be OK as long as it fits.

i think a microwave draws up to 1300 watts or so.. it does this no matter what setting you have it on..

In a previous caravan I replaced the microwave with one from Aldi. It sat on a shelf over the cooker and was secured through the shelf by 4 self tapping screws. Worked as expected.

Needs ventilation, so don’t get one that’s too tight a fit if it’s in an enclosed space & don’t block the existing vent if there is one.
