Sometimes yes, sometimes no. But very often they charge for the service. I got sick of paying a Euro per two blocks on site. Significant cash over a long trip. A CombiCool may be expensive up front, but it really works and will pay for itself in the long run, as you waste less food and have to go shopping less often.
One tip that helps a lot is to buy a cheap insullated bag to put inside your coolbox if you decide against a CombiCool.. The kind that they sell at the checkouts for carrying food home is best, and usually about £1. (I bought one in M&S last week.) Put your food in that, icepack on top and roll the top down to eliminate the airgap. Saves having a lot of dead air to cool if your coolbox isn`t full, and increases its insullation quite significantly.
