I know this has been discussed before. I bought a Jonic topper a couple of yrs ago after researching what was best for us. It certainly wasn’t a cheap option! We’ve been away for 8 nights so far this holiday and we are both complaining about our backs or hips. I’m tempted to just get a thicker cheaper one and be prepared to change it every year? ? We just want to have comfortable sleep when we’re away. We only manage a few weekends and one main 2 weeks per year. Anyone else found that expensive ones aren’t worth it??

We bought Duvalays 15 years ago now and changed the mattress parts 3 or 4 years ago now as they were getting thinner than they used to be. We find them very comfortable and have no complaints about them lasting. For us they are worth the price.

We have an expensive Duvalay topper on our fixed bed and when my mum used to come away with us occasionally, we bought a cheap topper from somewhere like B&M for her (I can’t remember exactly where) and I find it more comfortable!

If the mattress underneath has lumps and bumps these will still be felt through the topper no matter how think. Also a thicker topper weighs a lot more.

We had a Jonic topper for our bed, but as the island bed folds over at the top, the bed always look untidy. We bought a Jonic mattress and it is so comfortable, even better than our one at home

The mattress on our island bed is fine but just not as comfy as our bed at home. That’s why I went for a jonic which was made to measure. I might have a look at some cheaper ones, I’m not prepared to spend another £250+ on a topper that isn’t comfortable. I have the occasional back pain and don’t want to be unable to enjoy my holidays.
