I have tried this on another thread, but only `little` Suzie Wong answerd. Having been given one of these I still cannot get the hang of it ....any help out there please ?, Muckalo.
How are you trying to use it? Bear in mind it is adjustable to the pole width by turning over the red piece on the bar.
To use it the U shaped wire is placed against the fastening nut and the end with the two rubber feet placed on the pole being moved. Simply rock the handle backwards until the feet start to slip and the poles are then tensioned. As this can be done one handed your free hand is then able to do up the wing nut before you release the tension.
Very many thanks to you both, lobey and taw1. At last I can use it, Like many more things..it`s simple when you know how ! Thanks again and what a great site this is , Muckalo.
Definitely worth it, does what I am not strong enough to do - gets the awning tensoin just right - no more floppy roofs and sides. Only one problem, being 5ft tall have to take a ladder with me or borrow a tall camper for the roof ones
