Lidl have got the microfibre ones back in next week (Thursday 23rd). You can get a pack of either 2 hand towels or one bath towel. We had ours from Lidl 3 years ago and they're still as good as new today. They dry extremely quickly but as mentioned before they feel a bit odd if you've got rough hands!
Well I've invested and bought 2 from Milletts yesterday. OH pulled a face especially when I told him how much they cost, but I'm sure that when we get to use them in a couple of weeks he'll appreciate how good they are (I hope so anyway).
Must have been a day for shopping at Millets yesterday for towels! I went in and bought two of them.
When my OH made a comment about the price of them, I told him it was either buy things like that to take up less space in the car or buy a new car that was bigger.
Some reason, he didn't have any more comments about the cost of the towels. Funny that!
I've been checking out Ebay too. Crikey you lot make me part with my money!
Only thing is, the cheaper towels don't seem big enough to cover my - erm - modesty. I'd like to get one anyway as I swim almost daily and it would be better than lugging a heavy damp towel back with me afterwards but I am a bit on the cuddly side (more than a bit in fact) and don't want to scare half the Isle of Wight population out of 10 years growth!
Freya and I bought some of the small hair towels from Aldi ("Dont say they were from Aldi Mam, embarrassing!") for £3 each, microfibre and red or peach etc. Bloomin marvellous!!! Cannot wash my hair with out these now ;) I want to get them in towel size, but do want coloured ones...white wouldnt last two minutes in our hands...

Looking forward to trying these out now - I'm tempted to use it at home before we go away, but maybe not - I haven't got too long to wait until our next trip (hooray) on 30th June.
If you are worried about damp towels but cant afford the 'posh' ones yet. My sister advised me to take face cloths for the main drying when you get out of the showers and finish off with the large towel. IT WORKED!
I only need to take one large towel and a few face cloths or flannels as they called them oop north!

Awwww Skatty, thanks for that. Looks like a trip to Savers in Bedworth tomorrow then
My daughter was very lucky and went off to Australia on a six week back-packing school trip a few years ago ( she got p/t job and paid for it all herself ) - she had a brilliant time.
Anyway, one of the teachers that took the group was a very well travelled lady and she recommended that everyone buy a 3m length of muslin and hem it. It had many uses - one of them being as a fast drying towel ! Think it worked really well too, although you would probably need small travel towel for hair-drying.
Others included - to cover you at night to protect from mossies / privacy on long train journeys when you wanted to sleep and not be disturbed / 'cover up' for hot weather
Maybe you could try this out as a cheaper alternative to the travel towels.
