finally deleved in and ordered one today, found it at a great price and free delivery, rang to check in stock first and they are, they also have stores in coventry, sheffield and derbyshire.
just though id let you all know as a few people have been asking about them...
After reading about the stove on here yesterday and seeing a suggestion to go to Index I went and bought one this morning. It was a bargain so thank you to the person who posted the idea!
From what I've read on here people put the petrol in one of those emergency petrol things you get from petrol stations while they are filling up their cars. That's what we're going to do. I'm a bit new, what is an MSR bottle?

You get them from Halfords, cmoing and cycling shops. Shiny metal bottles with a cap. can you see this picture ?

Chris, MSR is a brand that do fuel burning stuff like coleman but more for the extreme backpacker type person(i think). so a MSR bottle is the bottle that you keep the fuel in and mine is exactly like the middle one in the piccy above, except with MSR on it..
Buy a 5 litre petrol plastic gerry can from a hardware store or petrol station. Fill it up, leave it at home. Refill your stove and spare fuel bottle. Fill the lawnmower up aswell.
MSR
Mountain Safety Research. Do all types of survival / camping equipment etc. Yanks.

do I take it its totally safe to transport the coleman all fuelled up ready to go?.. it dosent say anything against it it the instruction.
I have just had to replace the generator on my stove because I used "old" petrol, it's not a good idea to store fuel for any length of time. Old fuel will also ruin your lawn mower etc.
thank you for the info, we were intending to take a car petrol thing (the green plastic ones) with us as I was worried that leaving it full might be dangerous.
Christine, they are just £42 in Index, reduced from £60. However, I had to visit a couple of branches to find one. They have lots of bargains (not just camping) because they are closing down, I think they may have gone bust? I also got the remote control lantern for just £9, I wanted a campingaz one but there were none left (I even got my Dad to go to his local branch !!). Well worth a look.
If you fill the stove up before you go then a litre fuel bottle as back-up is all you really need and should probably last you about a week (depending on how much cooking you're doing).
I use an emergency petrol can at home - fill it up at a petrol station, bring it home and then top up my litre bottle from that.
I was looking at fuel bottles (including the MSR) and ended up with one made by Trangia - it's plastic and has a special venting valve on the top designed to release the pressure caused by the fuel after standing for a while. This has the added advantage of baing able to be used for pouring the fuel and is much safer if you're a bit of a messy pup like me (a tenner from Millets).
