We need to buy a fridge to keep in the tent as we go away for a week in July (we can manage without one for a weekend). It will be for mainly the dairy stuff and maybe a bottle of wine  so don't need anything massive.

Any recommendations/comments?

Also I think that they are supplied with a 12v plug and that you'll need an adapter for the EHU. Do any of you plug the fridge into the car socket whilst travelling to prevent stuff going off or is that a really dumb question? It's just that we have a 12v socket in the back of the car and it seems a good idea ?

Ive got the combi cool as well its BRILLIENT!!!!!!!!!!!!  but if you dont want to spend that much and you get one of the ones that need an adapter for EHU we usually plug it in at home the night before and then plug it in the 12 volt for the car journey and try and make sure the things we put in for the journey is already chilled,  our one tends to make a bit of noise,  we also use it with ice pack's for the beach.

Our combi cool is packed away in our trailer tent thats why we have the small one for the car but it dosn't come anywhere near the combicool for performance so if you can afford the combi cool and have the space thats the one I would absolutly recommend.

We have a Sibir 3 way fridge (mains/12v/gas)  I think we paid £130 last year, it's fantastic. Although it is fairly large, it's not heavy.

For weekends away, I plug the fridge in the mains at home Friday morning, then load it up once home late afternoon, once moved to the car,  run 12v until I reach the campsite.

We bought our fridge from 'Range' just after Xmas for about £35. It runs on12/240 V. We're going to use for the first time next weekend.  The theory is you plug it in the house to get to the right temp, then put in your food etc. and then use the 12v in the car until you get to campsite, where you can then plug into your EHU.

Well that's the theory.
